Q: Why donate to Hope for the Disabled Kids over other organizations?
A: We are non-discriminatory, we help disabled kids regardless of race, color or religion.

Q: What can I donate?
A: We accept most cars, trucks, trailers, boats and RV's, real estates, etc.. If you have any questions about what you can donate, please send us an e-mail.

Q: Is my donation tax deductible?
A: Yes. We are listed and classified with the IRS as non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organizations which allows donations to these non-profit organizations to be tax deductible. Individual tax situations vary so please check with a tax professional to determine how you may benefit.

Q: What do I need to donate my vehicle?
A: We'd like the title to the vehicle, but if you do not have it please call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements may be made. Please contact us via e-mail or call 1-800-475-7177.

Q: How is the value of my car determined?
A: We suggest you review IRS Publication 526 which sets forth the manner in which the IRS requires you to determine the value of your donated property. 
The Kelly Blue Book web site is also helpful in determining the value of your vehicle, or you can call us to get the Kelly Blue Book value.

If your donation is worth more than $5,000 then you will need an appraisal and a signed 8283 tax form for your tax purposes. We can arrange to have your vehicle valued by an independent appraiser and provide you with all the necessary documentation to properly claim your tax deduction without any cost to you.

Q:  How will the car be picked up?
A: We will arrange to have your vehicle picked up at your convenience.

Q: How long will it take to pick up my car? 
A: We can normally pick up your car within 1-2 days. If you need your car picked up sooner, we can most likely make those arrangements as well.

Q: Will there be any cost to me?
A: No. Hope for the Disabled Kids will pay for the cost to tow your vehicle donation.

Q: Can I donate a vehicle that hasn't run in years?
A: Hope for the Disabled Kids will accept whole vehicles in any condition (Exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing).

Q: Is Hope for the Disabled Kids a non-profit organization?
A: Yes. Hope for the Disabled Kids, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation and the IRS determination letter is available online. We are also registered with Attorney General's office, our registration # is 06-97-08.
